google chrome scrollable tabs

Google initially began testing scrollable tabstrip on Chrome over a year ago, however, the flag for this much-needed feature didn't actually work. Thanks to the "people" of Reddit, it appears the flag has now started functioning.

If you are someone who opens a gazillion of tabs to a point where their icons shrink into a size so small that even clicking on a tab becomes some kind of a drunk behavior, here is how to get yourself some nice Google Chrome scrollable tabs.

Enable Google Chrome Scrollable TabStrip

Google Chrome's scrollable tabs feature allows you to scroll through tabs using the mouse wheel after you have opened a few of them. This is an experimental feature, which means you will have to enable its flag to get it for yourself.

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Copy and paste the following string in the address bar: chrome://flags/#scrollable-tabstrip
  3. You will see the following screen:
  4. Click on Enabled from the drop-down menu next to Scrollable TabStrip.
  5. Relaunch the browser.

As Google warns, this is one of the work-in-progress features and "by enabling these features, you could lose browser data or compromise your security or privacy." However, the feature seems to be working flawlessly without any hiccups or issues. It will work on Google Chrome for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome OS.
